Super Tour

An unforgettable tour providing material for fantastic photographs and adventurous experience.

After viewing the surroundings of Lake Myvatn from the air you will fly to the South, over Ódáðahraun (the largest continous lava field in Iceland) towards Askja, which is a stratovolcano in the central highlands, reaching up to 4954 ft (1510 m.) in height and only is accessible few months of the year, except by air!

From Askja we continue further South towards Kverkfjöll mountains, located on the Northern edge of Vatnajökull glacier, the largest glacier in Europe. On a clear day one can see all the way to Iceland's highest mountain, Öræfajökull. From there you will fly to the North, pass closely to Mt. Herðubreið and fly over some of the most desolate parts of Iceland until you reach Europe's most powerful waterfall, Dettifoss. After few passes over Dettifoss you will fly along the beautiful Jökulsárcanyon until you reach Ásbyrgi, which is a horse shoe shaped depression in the landscape which measures roughly 1.1 km across and 3.5 km in length. The sides are formed by steep cliffs which average about 100 meters in height.

From there we fly back to Lake Mývatn, over Krafla, Námafjall and Hverfjall, before landing at Reykjahlid airport.
